Melee is the traditional game type that involves the character of choice fighting another character that is player controlled. If you play Arena alone, locally, you will be able to select a character that will fight in the King's Arena. The Arena game will end after the player wins, loses, or quits the game. However, if there is only one player in a local Arena game, the player will have the option of choosing their character, but keep their current level, items, weapon, and animal orb on that same character. This falls under the same mechanic as previously mentioned above. This is not true if there are more people in the game selecting each of the four different game types.Īt any time, the player can switch their Playable Characters whenever they feel like it through Character Select. When a player selects a game type, but another player tries to select another game type, there is a 50/50 chance that the game type selected will be chosen.

Note: "P" to pause, "Y" to mute, and "R" to restart

We also hope it continues to inspire others, as the gaming community has inspired us over the years. With added support for mobile, gamepads, local multiplayer, and other goodies, hopefully this serves up new surprises + nostalgia. Today (2021), we've revisited this little gem to show how far we've come in 12 years! Can you unlock all 8 animal buddies? He refused to shave until CC was complete! Some say his beard took on a mind of its own. Debuting in 2008, Castle Crashing the Beard was a spoof on Tom Fulp's efforts toward what would become the smash hit, Castle Crashers.
